Our refund and cancellation policy for services
General Refund Policy
A Plumber By Trade Robert Drew is committed to customer satisfaction. Due to the nature of construction services and the custom nature of our work, our refund and cancellation policy is designed to be fair while protecting both parties.
Deposits and Advance Payments
Deposits and advance payments are non-refundable once we begin work on your project. This includes:
- Permit application and processing fees
- Material orders and deposits
- Labor scheduling and preparation
- Design and planning work completed
Project Cancellations
You may cancel your project before work begins for a full refund minus any non-recoverable costs incurred. If work has begun but not completed, the following refund schedule applies:
Before Work Begins
Full refund minus 5% administrative fee and any non-recoverable costs (permits, design fees, material orders).
During First Week of Work
75% refund of contract amount minus non-recoverable costs and costs for work completed.
After First Week
50% refund of contract amount minus non-recoverable costs, costs for work completed, and penalty for disruption.
Change Orders
Changes to the original project scope may result in additional charges or credits. Change orders must be agreed upon in writing before additional work begins. Credits for changes that reduce the project scope will be applied to the final invoice.
Material Returns
Materials purchased specifically for your project that are in original, unused condition may be returned for store credit within 30 days of purchase. Custom-ordered or non-returnable items cannot be refunded or returned.
Service Issues and Quality Concerns
If you are not satisfied with the quality of work performed, we will work with you to make it right. This may include:
- Repair or correction of defective work
- Adjustment to final payment
- Partial refund in cases where correction is not feasible
Warranty Claims
Workmanship warranty claims do not constitute refunds but rather our commitment to stand behind our work. Warranty issues will be addressed through repair or replacement at our discretion.
Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures to perform due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Weather conditions affecting exterior work
- Supply chain disruptions
- Government restrictions or permit delays
- Pandemic-related restrictions
Dispute Resolution
Before requesting a refund, please contact us to discuss any concerns. We are committed to resolving disputes amicably. If resolution cannot be reached, refunds will be processed according to Massachusetts state law.
Refund Processing
Approved refunds will be processed within 15 business days. Refunds will be issued in the same form as payment received:
- Credit card refunds - back to original card
- Check payments - by company check
- Cash payments - by company check
How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, please contact us in writing with:
- Your project details and contract number
- Reason for refund request
- Supporting documentation if applicable
